Thomas Crown Affair, The.

(June) Directed by Norman Jewison, written by local lawyer Alan Trustman, and starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, the crime romance concerns a rich Beacon Hill bank robber and the insurance investigator stalking him. Scenes are shot in the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Downtown, the Fenway, and Jamaica Plain, the protagonist lives in the second Harrison Gray Otis House and robs the Boston Mercantile Bank on Congress Street. The film premieres in Boston after an elaborate all-day celebration. Director Jewison subsequently an interviewer, “Think of it, a movie shot in Boston. Nobody ever shoots movies in Boston.”
